Clos Monplaisir
With an exceptional view over the Vienne river, this confidential vineyard produces a Cabernet Franc of rare concentration.
From vine to cellar
The most beautiful panorama in the Chinon appellation, with a plunging view over the banks of the Vienne. This south-facing clay-limestone vineyard offers a ripe, full-bodied expression of Cabernet Franc, while retaining good structure and limestone freshness. Vines planted in 1979 with yields of around 20 hl/ha favoring exceptional concentration. First plot harvested thanks to its remarkable exposure. Maceration and vatting in wooden vats since 2008, with pumping over and punching down to extract body and color. Malolactic fermentation sometimes on marc for additional roundness. Extended aging of 12 to 15 months in barrels of 1 to 3 wines refines this wine of rare personality. A cuvee for very long ageing, revealing its originality after several years in the cellar.
