La Cure

A historic vineyard facing the church of Sazilly, La Cure reveals its assertive character and liveliness.

From vine to cellar

Two hectares of vines planted in 1974 on a gravelly terroir with a clay base corresponding to the high alluvial deposits of the Vienne, on the left bank opposite the church in Sazilly. Average yield 45 hl/ha. Produced from Clos de la Cure vines and a small plot of Clos de la Chapelle, this cuvée reveals a strong character, with firm tannins and a fine nervousness. Cold pellicular maceration for 5 days, followed by vatting for over 15 days at 24-26°C. After alcoholic fermentation, quality free-run and press wines are blended to produce a dense, tannic, lively wine. Malolactic fermentation in 3 to 4-wine barrels. 12 months barrel ageing refines tannins and reveals subtle red fruit aromas. Cuvée de bonne garde.

Bettane Desseauve

MILLENNIUM 2015

16.5/20
"A small part of the Clos which adjoins the church in Sazilly, on soil rich in clay. An elegant, open wine, both floral and slightly truffled, not at all dried out by its wood. Long, balanced, fresh and nuanced. In short, what one expects and doesn't find so often."

MILLENNIUM 2014

16 / 20 - RVF - Guide 2017 : "The level of the 2014 reds is excellent, right from the entry-level wines. La Cure is without asperity, but highly fresh and salivating, accomplished and precocious.

MILLENNIUM 2011

15.5 / 20 - Bettane Desseauve - Guide 2015 : "The juice is there, big, suave, tactile and sensual. It's not the estate's greatest cuvée, but the average can suffice when it's ...great in the absolute. "Le Rouge & Le Blanc, 2013 : "Small notes of graphite, tannic impression and small bitterness. The wine is sapid."

MILLENNIUM 2010

15,5 / 20 - RVF - Guide 2013 : "The Cuvée de la Cure reveals a very harmonious, velvety and fresh palate. "RVF, 2013 : "A straightforward, precise wine, carried by vigorous, expressive juice and delicate, fruity tannins. Excellent balance and ageing potential for this material.
