La Cure
A historic vineyard facing the church of Sazilly, La Cure reveals its assertive character and liveliness.
From vine to cellar
Two hectares of vines planted in 1974 on a gravelly terroir with a clay base corresponding to the high alluvial deposits of the Vienne, on the left bank opposite the church in Sazilly. Average yield 45 hl/ha. Produced from Clos de la Cure vines and a small plot of Clos de la Chapelle, this cuvée reveals a strong character, with firm tannins and a fine nervousness. Cold pellicular maceration for 5 days, followed by vatting for over 15 days at 24-26°C. After alcoholic fermentation, quality free-run and press wines are blended to produce a dense, tannic, lively wine. Malolactic fermentation in 3 to 4-wine barrels. 12 months barrel ageing refines tannins and reveals subtle red fruit aromas. Cuvée de bonne garde.
