"Charles Joguet's emblematic clos, in Sazilly, with very old vines over 80 years old and a small portion regularly renewed franche de pied. Hèlas, barely two hectares here too.
A marvel: if we had to define the ideal Chinon, this would be it. Floral refinement worthy of a pinot noir grand cru, with a supple grain of tannin perfectly integrated into the texture. Long, with a real bounce in the mouth, an exceptional wine."

Its texture is remarkable for the extreme finesse of its grain, wrapped in a concentrated, caressing body that gives it a charismatic presence on the palate. Very open, it's easier to drink than other vintages from La Dioterie, a famous little 2-hectare vineyard with octogenarian vines thriving in limestone-rich soil. Still, we'd like to wait a few more years for it, and then imagine it becoming more complex, with deep notes of truffle and undergrowth."
